MODERN QUILTING TRUNK SHOW- ALTERNATE GRIDWORK EXPLORED & EXPLAINED
Alternate grid work in modern quilt making refers to quilts that don’t follow the traditional block format of many quilts. The majority (but not all) of traditional quilt styles follow a predictable grid structure
How can we use it in our quilts, and why should we? Using quilt samples, Patti will show different ways to include alternate gridwork in our quilts. Take your quilts to the next level!

Now we are pleased to announce our
"EPP Party" September 2018- May 2019!
EPP refers to English Paper Piecing, the technique of folding fabric over paper templates and hand sewing these together. The paper template shape ensures the blocks are accurate and also makes it easier to piece angles together. EPP requires only; paper, fabric, scissors, thread, and needles, so it's a great craft to take with you!
For this years program we will be doing
2 small projects instead of 1 big quilt, as we have done in years past.
Project #1- Sept. to December
Heartbreaker EPP Mini Quilt
Heartbreaker is a fun epp mini quilt by Libs Elliot. It is a skill-building English paper piecing pattern made up with 7 hearts. When finished it measures 22"x25" so it's a fairly quick project and is a great size for a wall hanging or to give as a gift.
Project #2 - January to April
Wicked Hex Mini Quilt
The Wicked Hex is an English Paper Piecing project by Libs
Elliott. You can be use any fabrics to make this mini quilt!
It's versatile in that you can fussycut certain pieces to add focus to the quilt. Because the pieces are larger, it's a good starting point for anyone who hasn't tried paperpiecing before. It's portable, great for mini quilt swaps and it's not just wicked...it's fun.
We will meet on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
