During "Hexie Club", you can come in and enjoy the relaxing handwork of English Paper Piecing.  Come and work on your projects, get advise or come and try it out!  No previous experience is necessary! It's that easy!  It's a fun, relaxing afternoon with lots of camaraderie and inspiration!

There are 2 options for you to sign up for our classes: You can call (705) 737-3777, or stop by and register in person. Classes are limited to 8 students.

If you have a pattern or project that you would like to make you can suggest to us for a class or you can get 4 friends together and schedule your a private class with the teacher of your choice.


If your class requires a book or pattern, please realize that it is copyright infringement to make a photocopy or share outside your household.

All class supply purchases receive 15% off.
 

Class Policy
Full payment is due upon signing up for a class to guarantee your place.

100% of class fee is refundable or transferable to another class if cancellation is done at least 72 hours before class.

There is NO REFUND OR TRANSFER TO ANOTHER CLASS IF WE RECEIVE LESS THAN 72 HOURS NOTICE. Sorry, we are not able to make exceptions. This ensures the teachers are compensated for their time, and students waiting for spots in full classes are not missing class.

No-shows forfeit any refund or exchange.

SASHIKO WORKSHOP

Try your hand at sashiko, the traditional Japanese stitching. We will discuss the do’s and don’ts of stitching these classic designs, helpful tools and supplies, and will stitch a sampler of several designs in class.

SPRING GARDEN QUILT CLASS

 This is a fantastic scrap buster or a wonderful use of all those collections of FQ’s you have been wondering what to do with. This lap quilt features a combination of traditional piecing and a simple fusible machine applique block. This is a perfect class for a newer quilter. It will help to develop accurate cutting, piecing and pressing along with a simple introduction to fusible machine applique.

BEGINNER QUILTING 101 - Part 1 
This class is intended for the absolute beginner or anyone wanting to brush up on quilting basics. This class will cover accurate cutting, accurate piecing and accurate pressing. These are the three basics for successful and accurate quilting. Once you have mastered these skills you will be off and running with your quilting journey. In this class we will make a simple yet elegant table runner which can be made in only three fabrics of your choice in a multitude of combinations. I am sure you will make this runner over and over again.

 After an in-depth discussion of necessary tools, books, etc.  Patti will guide you through 6 different techniques of free-motion machine quilting.  A whole day filled with free-motion fun & learning!

MACHINE QUILTING BASICS- Walking Foot Quilting 
This course is an introductory into quilting your own quilts using your walking foot and quilters guide. We will practice many different techniques using our prepared practice quilt sandwiches. We will also discuss how you would plan and quilt a small project of your choice. Feel free to bring along a small table runner or place mat to work on after all of our practice is complete.
Learn how to quilt using your walking foot. Many machine quilting techniques and tips will be covered. Perfect techniques for your home sewing machine. A must for every quilter.

QUILTER'S WORKSHOP
This class is open to quilters of all levels.  This is the perfect class to work on a project of your choosing. Your project must be quilt related. 
You can work on a project that you have started and need some help with or a new project you need help to get started. Either way our qualified teacher is here to help and encourage you.

SUMMER WALLHANGING CLASS
Summer features two traditional pieced blocks that alternate around the border of a beautiful fusible applique of a pansy pot. There is a lot to learn in this class including fussy cutting to achieve a more realistic look for your flowers and leaves.This lovely wall hanging combines piecing and machine appliqué.  One class teaches you 2 techniques!

MODERN QUILTING TRUNK SHOW- ALTERNATE GRIDWORK EXPLORED & EXPLAINED


Alternate grid work in modern quilt making refers to quilts that don’t follow the traditional block format of many quilts. The majority (but not all) of traditional quilt styles follow a predictable grid structure

 How can we use it in our quilts, and why should we?  Using quilt samples, Patti will show different ways to include alternate gridwork in our quilts.  Take your quilts to the next level!

Start by making one large “bench pillow” form. Then change out a new cover for that pillow form for each season or holiday! This is the idea behind a new line of patterns for interchangeable bench pillow projects. The “O Canada!” pillow cover is perfect for July or all year long!

FAST & FABULOUS BARGELLO WALLHANGING

Have you heard of a bargello quilt? It is a stunning work of quilting art that's full of motion. Waves, curves and other shapes move gracefully across the quilt top. These quilts look incredibly difficult, but surprisingly, they are quite easy to make.  In this full-day class Patti will give you hints & tips for making this strip-pieced this classic quilt.

BEGINNER QUILTING 101: PART 2 
This class is designed to learn the basics of squaring up your quilt, sandwiching it in preparation for quilting and machine quilting your top. After your quilting is complete we will learn the basics of how to cut, sew, press and apply our binding. The final stage is learning a very lovely hand finishing of invisible stitching to complete your project. This class is a must for beginners. Your binding will be perfect every time.
